About Me

I am a self taught artist with a great interest in fashion and design. My passion lies in creating something that is different and eye catching. I've always had an interest in faces, people, and vibrant colours, and I guess this is a constant source of inspiration. I am also influenced by ballet, flamenco, belly dancing, and ancient egypt, which is often self evident in my work. I often create different bodies of work around a theme. Some examples of the themes I have worked with are : Dance Inspiration, Egyptian, Bound Figurines, Leopard Print, Beauties on Spheres, and Futuristic Illustration.

Michelaine has recently collaborated with some well established artists to commemorate International Womens Heritage 2006, attended by the Mayor of Croydon.

Michelaine was asked to commission a piece of her art work for Black History Month. The painting was auctioned and the procceeds were donated to a womans charity .

Michelaine's artwork is permanently on display in a beautiful shop called Kizala in George Street beside Alders in Croydon. Her work is complemented by other artifacts in Kizala - this shop is full of original things! So...if you wish to see her artwork in it's full glory, please do not hesitate to come and have a look. The Artwork is also available to purchase.

Michelaine is always present at all of her exhibitions, so you can actually meet her in the flesh. Never hesistate to approach her, she's always happy to say hello. She loves meeting people. She always has a comment book you can can comment and she always has a contact book so she can personally send you an invite to attend future exhibitions.
